Expressions of interest are now open for our 2020 January – June Creative Development Program.

If you’re an artist or company with a new performance project to develop, Brunswick Mechanics Institute (BMI) offers up to three weeks of free space, along with access to tech, production and industry support.

Selected projects are able to use either the Studio or Theatre space and could choose to work in one intensive or across multiple blocks over the season.

Applications from artists who live and work in City of Moreland will be highly regarded.

Expressions of interest will be assessed against the following criteria:

— High-quality, original concept

— Well-researched with a clear rationale

— Demonstrated social, cultural, political, environmental, personal relevance (why does this work need to be made now)

— Experimental, pushing artform boundaries, or innovating within a specific artform

— Where appropriate, considers cultural safety, environmental sustainability, access and inclusion
